Gabe's Landscaping Inc.
Dutchess County's premier landscaping service
Gabe’s Landscaping is a family owned business that offers a variety of high quality
landscaping services. We look forward to helping your property shine!
Our Core services include:
Property Maintenance and Lawn Mowing
We offer mowing and property maintenance for both residential and commercial properties. We mow on a weekly basis at 3 inches or higher to preserve a healthy but neat lawn. We will also adjust based on weather to ensure that your lawn always looks as lush as possible. The mowing service includes weed whacking around any edges or other obstacles as well as blowing clippings away from walkways and flower beds.
Shrub and Small Tree Installation
We install and transplant shrubs and small trees. We dig a hole two times the size of the root ball, install using garden mix soil, and use mycorrhizal fungal treatment and Bio-Tone starter to develop a healthy root system to ensure that your trees and shrubs thrive after install.
Tree Work
We will cut trees of any size. Depending on the location and condition of the tree we can cut piece by piece or fell the tree from the ground. Afterwards we will remove the logs and dispose of any debris. We also offer stump grinding services to finish off the tree completely. It is important to consider tree removal when they are diseased, dying, or too tall and in a position that they can harm the property.
Brush Clearing
We offer a variety of brush clearing options; we can remove old stockpiled brush, clean up overgrown areas, or even fully clear out unwanted sections of brush.
Our Spring services include:
Beginning of Season Clean-up
We will clean-up your property in preparation for the mowing season. This includes removing leaves and other debris that accumulated over the winter before the inital mow. Once the yard is clear, we rake the grass to allow better oxygen flow and promote faster growth.
Gardening
We will set up and maintain your gardens by planting new flowers, trimming existing bushes, and even designing the landscape from a blank slate. Additionally, we will keep the gardens fresh by weeding, trimming, and hand pruning.
Mulching
We will put in fresh mulch to transform the look of your gardens. We offer multiple colors of mulch such as red, brown, and black, as well as more natural options like sweet peat, cedar, and double-shredded pine. We can create new mulch beds or clean-up and refresh existing ones. We also offer a variety of borders for your mulch beds, including pavers, belgian block, and a simple natural edge to prevent weeds creeping in and mulch falling out.
Lawn Repair
We will put down grass seed in the early spring to allow for optimal growth by mowing season. We prepare areas for seeding by removing rocks, adding fresh top soil, and leveling the area to ensure a great looking patch of grass.
Seeding and Lawn Installation
We can transform large areas into a beautiful lawn. We grade the area, add 3 inches of top soil, use a blend of grass seed designed to grow well in the Northeast, and finish with fertilizer and weed preventatives to boost growth and yield and thick lawn. We cover the new grass with hay to retain moisture. For a more instant transformation, we offer sod installation instead of the grass seed for a new lawn right away.
Our Summer services include:
Hardscaping
We design and build a variety of natural stone and paver creations. Some of the projects we offer include patios, walkways, steps, driveway borders, and more.
Drainage Work
We install drainage systems to redirect rainwater away from the house. We offer natural swells, french drains, and a variety of pipes anywhere from 4-inch to 3-foot depending on what your property needs. We will dig out the area, install the system, and then cover and repair the area for a seamless transformation.
Grading
We work with your vision to transform your property by removing bumps and filling in divots to create a smooth surface. This makes your property easier to navigate as well as acting as a better canvas for future projects.
Hedge Trimming
We will trim your hedges to give a neat look. We remove all debris created by the trimming to keep your garden beds clean. In addition to hedges we can also trim trees and large bushes.
Our Fall services include:
Leaf Clean-up
We offer our fall clean-up services in mid-October through the end of November. During this period we will clean-up the leaves multiple times to ensure that they do not accumulate to the point of damaging the grass. For city and town of Poughkeepsie residents, we will work with the leaf removal schedule so that the city can pick up the leaves afterwards.
Gutter Cleaning
We will remove leaves and other debris from gutters and inspect downspouts to make sure water is draining properly. This helps to prevent any issues with water coming into the house, which is a common problem after the leaves fall.
Winter Preparations
To prepare to winter we will give a final touch-up by cleaning flower beds and trimming bushes so they aren’t damaged by snow. We will wrap evergreen bushes with burlap or deer net to prevent deer from eating them or snow from damaging them during the winter. We also offer winterizer to give plants extra strength to make it through the winter season.
Our Winter services include:
Plowing
We clear snow from both residential and commercial properties. We offer plowing, hand shoveling, and salting services. We will clear snow from your driveway, front walkway, in front of your garage, and in front of your mailbox.
Small Excavation
We can excavate areas to prepare for various projects. Our mid-size equipment is suitable for jobs where large heavy equipment does not fit the application. Some small excavation projects include removing a small hill from a property, digging a small pit, or clearing a leftover pile of debris.
Stump Grinding
We will grind down any stumps left behind from tree work on your property. Additionally, we can remove the wood chips created by the grinder and bring in top soil and grass seed depending on the application. If you intend to plant grass in areas where there were stumps, those stumps must be ground 6 inches below the surface minimum because wood chips close to the surface steal moisture and nutrients from the grass.
